Cost Of Living as a Student

The minimum amount of funds required by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for students to show they can cover their living expenses is CAD 10,000 per year (or CAD 11,000 for Quebec). Eligible Indian students who deposit this into a Guaranteed Investment Certificate (GIC) at an approved bank can expect faster visa processing through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) program.

Entry Requirements

Each university or learning institution sets its own admission requirements for international students but generally, applicants must have:

Undergraduate Programs

High School (Grade 12) or equivalent with a minimum average score of 55%
IELTS score of 6.5 overall.

Postgraduate Programs

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a minimum average score of 60% to 65%
IELTS score of 6.5 overall.
